For families with personal, holding and management companies

Your companies do business with each other. Your software doesn't.

Aperture is the books and the balance sheet for your whole household: every entity, every statement, and a net worth that finally matches your books.

Now accepting a small number of pilot families.

The question nobody can answer

How does your net worth relate to your balance sheets?

A net worth app adds up account balances. Your companies' books add up assets and liabilities. Here is one small household where the two disagree by $820,000.

The gap, explained line by line

  • $500,000: a loan between your own companies counted as wealth.
  • $320,000: the 40% of OpCo that belongs to your partners.

Illustrative household, simplified. In Aperture the same tree drills from household to entity to statement.

Why your current tools can't fix it

Every tool owns one piece. None of them owns the household.

Aggregators own the net worth. Accounting software owns one company's books. Institutional platforms own reporting for professionals. The gap between them is where your bookkeeper's hours go.

How it works

Statements in. Books done. Net worth that ties out.

  1. 01

    Statements in

Download statements as PDFs or CSVs and drop them in. Aperture shows which months are missing for every account.

  2. 02

    AI does the bookkeeping

Transactions are categorized from your own history. You review and approve; nothing posts on its own.

  3. 03

    Companies settle themselves

A management fee or loan between entities posts on both sides at once, and the two always agree.

  4. 04

Net worth falls out of the books

Ownership rolls up, loans between entities cancel, and every number traces to a document.

What makes it different

Built the way an auditor would want it built.

Statement first

Reconciled to the statement, not scraped from a feed.

  • No bank passwords stored, no aggregator to break.
  • Parsers for JPM, Citi, Schwab, Interactive Brokers and more.
  • A coverage grid answers “are the books complete for March?” with yes or no.
Screenshot: statement coverage grid

Documentation first

Every number has a source.

  • AI files each document by type, entity and tax year.
  • The tax organizer shows what’s received and missing, then exports a clean ZIP for your CPA.
  • Every change, by a person or an AI, is in the audit trail and can be undone.
Screenshot: tax organizer, received vs. missing

Organized

One household. Every entity. Everyone in the right place.

  • Trusts, LLCs, partnerships, S-corps and individuals, each with its own books.
  • Ownership graph and cap table show who owns what.
  • Your CPA sees the three LLCs they work on, and nothing else.

The engine

AI does the bookkeeping. You sign off.

  • Categorized from your history, with confidence shown and doubtful items flagged.
  • AI agents get a scoped role like any other user, and every action they take is in the audit trail.
  • Choose the AI provider for your household, with a log of every call.

Security

Your books live in accounts you own.

We never use your records. The Aperture application, which we manage, reaches them only on your behalf, with credentials locked by your key. Your AWS audit log shows each time it unlocks them, and you can switch it off.
YOURS In your accounts, under your controlOURS Run and managed by us

Three places, three owners

We run the application in our AWS account. Your key and your document bucket are in your AWS account; your database is in your Neon project.

Point at, tap or tab to any box or line for what it means.

The Aperture application runs in our AWS account. It reaches your database in your Neon project and your document bucket in your AWS account, using credentials locked with your key, which is also in your AWS account.

Try switching us off

Simulation only · no account changes

Each switch is yours: it lives in your AWS account or your Neon project, not ours.

What your key does, plainly: it doesn't hide your records from the application while you use it. The application has to read them to do your books. Your key decides whether it can reach them at all.

Where data lives
Stored only in your database (your Neon project) and your document bucket (your AWS account).
Who can reach it
Only the Aperture application, which we run, with credentials locked by your key. Each unlock is in your AWS audit log.
Bank access
None. You download statements as you do today; no bank passwords are stored.
Advisor access
Roles for bookkeeper, CPA, tax preparer, investment advisor and family, each limited to chosen entities.
Sign-in
Two-factor sign-in, which you can require for each role. API keys stored only as hashes.
Audit
Every financial change recorded with before and after, by person or AI agent.

Is it for you?

Built for the household with a holding company.

A good fit if you

  • Hold wealth across a mix of trusts, LLCs, partnerships and personal accounts.
  • Pay a bookkeeper and a CPA, and want them working from one record.
  • Pay for a net worth app today and still can’t tie it to your books.
  • Hold investments, options, real estate or crypto inside your entities.

Probably not a fit if you

  • Run a single business with simple books. QuickBooks is fine.
  • Only want a net worth dashboard, with no books behind it.
  • Need live bank feeds today.

Pilot program

Bring one tax year into Aperture with us.

We're working with a small group of families to set up their household, migrate a year of statements, and close the books together. Start with a 30-day sandbox trial on sample data.
  • Guided setup of your own Aperture, with your books in accounts you own.
  • Your entities, ownership and contracts between them mapped with you.
  • A year of statements imported and reconciled.
  • Direct line to the founder; your feedback shapes the roadmap.

Built by a scientist who ran a multi-entity family office on QuickBooks, Wave and Kubera, and found that nothing tied together.
